Summer sports physicals are going to be June 11th and 18th from 7-10 p.m. at the HS. Parents can call 925-3823 x 213 to schedule an appointment. Cost is $15.
Tremont CUSD # 702 recently had a special education compliance audit conducted by Joan Hartnett, former director of the Woodford County Special Education Cooperative. Tremont Education Foundation Awards Grants
The Tremont Education Foundation recently awarded $10,500 in grants to District # 702 teachers for the 2012-2013 school year. The TEF received eleven requests totaling nearly $ 20,000. The amount awarded each year is based on the amount of interest income earned the previous year. No principal funds are used as part of these grants.The grant requests funded for 2012-13 are as follows:
- Action Based Learning Lab Equipment to Curt Herrin, Tremont Grade School physical education teacher
- Padding the Classroom: Using iPads in the Middle School to Laura Watts, Tremont Middle School technology teacher
- Microscopes in the Classroom to Shanna Oyer, Tremont Middle School science teacher
- Top Careers in Two Years to Julie Watkins, Tremont High School special education teacher
- Improving Student Learning by Utilizing Mimio Board Technology to Melissa Little, Tremont Middle School science teacher
- Primary Literacy Workshop for Parents (partial funding) to Kim Pepperell, Tremont Grade School reading specialist
- Common Core Mathematics Implementation Resources (partial funding) to Whitney Carver, Heather Rice, and Caleb Stuber, Tremont Middle School/High School mathematics teachers
- iPad Technology Enhancement (partial funding) to Teresa Delinski, Tremont Grade School technology educator
The Tremont Education Foundation has awarded over $265,000 since 1993 in support of Tremont Schools.
